Product Description: High-performance, full PFA (perfluoroalkoxy) lined butterfly valve with a ductile iron body conforming to ASTM A395. The design features a completely encapsulated disc and shaft, integrated PFA liner covering all wetted surfaces, and a one-piece anti-blowout stem. Suitable for aggressive acids, alkalis, and ultra-pure fluids.

7. Full PFA Lining & Design Features

  • Full Wetted-Surface Protection: All parts in contact with the medium — body interior, disc, and shaft — are completely encased with PFA of uniform thickness (≥ 3 mm). There is no exposed metal inside the flow path.

  • Exceptional Chemical Resistance: PFA is virtually inert to almost all chemicals, including concentrated acids (sulfuric, hydrochloric, nitric), alkalis, solvents, and ultra-high-purity water (UPW). It combines the properties of PTFE with superior melt-processability, resulting in a dense, non-porous lining.

  • Anti-Blowout Stem: The one-piece shaft is fitted from inside the body and secured by a retaining ring, providing a positive mechanical stop. Even if the gland is completely removed, the stem cannot be ejected by pressure.

  • Vacuum Resistance: The thick PFA liner is mechanically anchored into the ductile iron body and designed to withstand full vacuum (-1 bar) up to the valve’s maximum rated temperature, preventing liner collapse or delamination.

  • Bubble-Tight Shut-Off: The flexible PFA liner is molded with an integrated lip seal. The fully PFA-encapsulated disc compresses against this lip, creating a reliable, bidirectional, zero-leakage seal.

  • No Cavities: The smooth, seamless PFA surface eliminates crevices and dead spaces where media could accumulate, making the valve suitable for high-purity and crystallizing services.

  • Low Torque & Actuator Ready: The PTFE/PFA bearings and the non-stick PFA surface ensure low and consistent operating torque over the valve’s life. The ISO 5211 top flange allows direct mounting of any standard pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic actuator.


 

8. Application Scope

  • Suitable Media: Highly corrosive acids (HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃, HF), mixed acid, strong bases, aggressive solvents, chlorine-based chemicals, ultra-pure deionized water, and abrasive chemical slurries.

  • Temperature Range: -29 °C to +180 °C (continuous), up to +200 °C for short periods.

  • Industries: Chemical processing, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper, steel pickling, water treatment, semiconductor.
