TECHNICAL DATA SHEET

RISING STEM METAL SEATED GATE VALVE

Body Material: Ductile Iron (DI)
Seat Material: Bronze
Stem Material: Stainless Steel
Typical Size Range: DN50 – DN300 (2″ – 12″)
Typical Pressure Class: PN10 / PN16
End Connection: Flanged (EN 1092-1)

1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Rising stem, outside screw and yoke (OS&Y) pattern, bolted bonnet gate valve with metal-to-metal seating. The ductile iron body combines high strength with good corrosion resistance. Bronze seat rings are integrally cast or screwed into the body and wedge, providing galling resistance and reliable shut-off. The stainless steel stem with rising handwheel clearly indicates valve position. This design is suited for industrial water, steam, oil, and neutral fluid services where zero leakage (soft seats) is not mandatory but durable, high-cycle metal seating is required.

2. DESIGN FEATURES

  • Rising stem / OS&Y – Stem threads are outside the pressure envelope, isolated from the medium, allowing easy lubrication and maintenance.

  • Metal seated construction – Bronze seats on body and wedge ensure long service life under moderate temperature cycling and minimize pick-up compared to iron-on-iron seating.

  • Ductile iron body & bonnet – Higher impact resistance and pressure/temperature capability than grey cast iron.

  • Flexible wedge (optional solid wedge) – Flexible design compensates for body distortion and seat misalignment. Solid wedge available for high-temperature or highly viscous services.

  • Backseat bushing – Permits replacement of stem packing while the valve is under pressure (full open position).

  • Renewable seat rings – Body and disc seat rings can be replaced or reconditioned without removing the valve from the line (depending on size).
