Product Technical Data Sheet

C95800 Fully Lugged Concentric Butterfly Valve

1. Product Overview

This product is a fully lugged, concentric (centerline) butterfly valve, with both body and disc manufactured from C95800 nickel aluminum bronze casting alloy. Conforming to ASTM B148, C95800 is a high-strength casting copper alloy with excellent resistance to seawater corrosion. It is widely used in marine engineering, seawater desalination, shipbuilding, and petrochemical applications.

Typical chemical composition of C95800 (mass fraction, %):

Element Content Range (%)
Copper (Cu) Remainder (min. 79.0)
Aluminum (Al) 8.5–9.5
Iron (Fe) 3.5–4.5
Nickel (Ni) 4.0–5.0
Manganese (Mn) 0.8–1.5
Silicon (Si) ≤0.10
Lead (Pb) ≤0.03
Tin (Sn) —
Phosphorus (P) —
Zinc (Zn) —
Nickel aluminum bronze provides superior corrosion resistance in seawater environments, especially resistance to cavitation and erosion-corrosion. It naturally forms a robust, dense, self-healing alumina (Al₂O₃) passive film, significantly extending valve service life in corrosive media.

2. Structural Description

Fully lugged body features through-threaded lug holes around the valve body, allowing direct bolting between pipeline flanges. Advantages include:

Facilitates pipeline maintenance – one pipeline side can be removed while the other side remains operational.
Suitable for dead-end service (end-of-line isolation).
Bidirectional sealing capability under full differential pressure.
Concentric (centerline) design means the stem centerline coincides with the disc centerline. This classic, most widely used butterfly valve configuration offers compact structure, low flow resistance, low operating torque, and easy maintenance.
