2. Pressure-Temperature Ratings

B62 C83600 bronze floating ball valves are available in a range of pressure classes and configurations depending on connection type and seat material. The table below summarizes common configurations:

Pressure/temperature ratings for B62 C83600 bronze shall comply with the bronze material group limits per ASME B16.34. Standard ratings include 150 WOG / 150 SWP for general service, 200 WOG / 200 SWP for medium pressure, and 600 WOG for higher-pressure threaded applications. The maximum working pressure shall be derated at elevated temperatures in accordance with the applicable standard. For JIS-rated valves, test pressures conform to JIS B2003.

The two-piece split body design consists of a main body and a tailpiece (end connector), joined by a bolted connection with a body gasket. All components are selected for compatibility with bronze body material and service conditions.

Material Notes:

Ball and stem in 316 Stainless Steel (CF8M) is the standard trim for general industrial service, providing excellent corrosion resistance in water, steam, and oil applications.
For enhanced seawater corrosion resistance and high-pressure service, Monel® K500 ball and stem is available as an optional trim material, suitable for marine, offshore, and mildly sour environments.
Seat material options: PTFE for general applications up to ~200 °C; RPTFE (glass-filled) for improved wear and dimensional stability; PEEK for high-temperature and high-pressure service up to 260 °C.
Actuator mounting flanges to ISO 5211 are available upon request.
External surface finish: sandblasted and degreased as standard.

6. Design Features

Feature Description Benefit
Two-Piece Split Body, Bolted Valve body is split into two main pieces (main body and tailpiece) joined by high-strength bolting and a body gasket. Robust pressure containment; easy disassembly for maintenance; fewer leakage paths than three-piece designs.
Floating Ball Design The ball is not fixed but floats between the seats, pressed against the downstream seat by line pressure. Provides reliable bi-directional sealing; simple construction with fewer parts.
Full Bore (Full Port) The ball bore diameter matches the nominal pipe size. Minimal pressure drop, maximum flow capacity; suitable for pigging applications.
Anti-Blowout Stem Stem is bottom-loaded with an integral shoulder that engages a mating recess in the body. Prevents stem ejection under line pressure, even if the packing gland is removed.
Anti-Static Design Conductive spring or ball between stem and ball ensures electrical continuity. Prevents static electricity buildup; essential for flammable/explosive media service.
Fire-Safe Construction Secondary metal seat backup behind the primary soft seat; graphite stem packing. Maintains sealing integrity during and after fire exposure (API 607 certified).
