Rubber Seated Dual Plate Check Valve
Description
Technical Data Sheet
Product: Rubber Seated Dual Plate Wafer Check Valve
Materials: CF8M Body/Disc, Viton Seat
1. General Description
This valve is a dual plate, wafer type, spring-return check valve featuring a resilient seat design that ensures zero-leakage sealing. The body and main internal components are manufactured from CF8M (316 Stainless Steel), with a Viton (FKM / Fluoroelastomer) seat, offering excellent corrosion resistance and high-temperature performance. It is widely used in water, oil, gas, and various chemical media pipeline systems to prevent backflow.
2. Design, Manufacturing & Inspection Standards
-
Design Standard: API 594 (Dual Plate Check Valves)
-
Pressure Rating: ASME Class 150 / 300 (This sheet uses Class 150 as the example)
-
Flange Connection: Mates with ASME B16.5 flanges (Wafer installation)
-
Face-to-Face: API 594 Short Pattern
-
Inspection & Testing: API 598
-
Pressure-Temperature Ratings: ASME B16.34

6. Pressure-Temperature Ratings (Body: CF8M / Seat: Viton)
The working pressure is limited by the lower value between the body material rating and the seat temperature limit. The table below shows the maximum allowable working pressure for CF8M Class 150 body, and the Viton seat remains reliable within the listed temperature range (Viton maximum 200°C).
| Temperature (°C) | Max. Working Pressure (bar) |
|---|---|
| -20 to 38 | 19.6 |
| 50 | 19.2 |
| 100 | 17.7 |
| 150 | 15.8 |
| 200 | 13.8 |
Test Pressures
Shell Test (1.5x): 29.4 bar (ambient temperature)
Seat Test (1.1x): 21.6 bar (ambient temperature)
7. Installation and Maintenance Notes
-
Install the valve strictly according to the flow direction arrow marked on the body to prevent reverse pressure.
-
For wafer installation, tighten flange bolts evenly to avoid body deformation that may affect sealing.
-
After prolonged shutdown, check spring flexibility and seat condition for aging before restarting.
-
Viton seats should avoid contact with ketones, esters, and certain amines. Please refer to a chemical compatibility chart for specific media.
